In late April, 2010, the department of Philology of Tver State University conducted an international conference “Russian mire: between nature and culture”. In reports presented by philologists, cultural and folklore studies specialists the Mire was treated as a cultural concept, something that by virtue of its intermediary status becomes the object of reflection for human beings.
