Абстракт
В статье приводятся новые сведения о необычном гнездовании обыкновенного поползня (Sitta europaea europaea) в полости оштукатуренной и побелённой кирпичной стены двухэтажного здания, в одном из центральных районов города Твери. Описываются особенности поведения самца и самки на ранних, средних и поздних этапах гнездостроения. Приводятся сведения о сроках гнездования и суточной строительной активности гнездовых партнёров и других аспектах этологии вида. Описаны реакции птиц на различные антропогенные факторы и межвидовые взаимоотношения. Обсуждается тенденция повышения индекса синантропизации данного подвида поползня.

This paper presents new information about the unusual nesting of the Eurasian Nuthatch (Sitta europaea) in the cavity of a plastered and whitewashed wall of a two-story building in a central district of Tver. The nest-building behavior of the male and female in the cavity of the brick building wall is described during the early, middle, and late stages. Information is provided on the nesting timing and daily construction activity of the nesting partners, including the time of obtaining building material, the presence and absence of birds in the nest cavity, the participation of sexual partners in the delivery of nesting material and the formation of the nest base itself, and the "plastering” of the cavity. The birds' responses to various anthropogenic factors and interspecific interactions are described. The trend toward an increasing synanthropization index for the Eurasian nuthatch, the nominate subspecies S. europaea europaea, is discussed.
